Inspired by the Yoruban term "Taiwo," the name given to the first born twin that means "having the first taste of the world." This book is a vulnerable exploration of the experience of being an identical twin. The text is integrated with vellum pages that layer me and my twin sister over one another to expose our similarities and differences.

First Taste of the World is written by Jane Lewis and photographed by Pamela Krinis. Typeset in Aktiv Grotesk. Printed on 21 x 29.7cm 300gr matte paper and 55gr vellum at Parsons Paris. Riso printed at Parsons Paris and spiral bound by Copymage. Designed and conceptualized by Jane Lewis.
